journeyPod was live and on the Red Carpet last Thursday evening at the 10th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival<\/strong>. The Opening Night Film, \u201cLymelife,\u201d featured Alec Baldwin, Jill Hennessey, Rory<\/strong> Culkin <\/strong>and Kieran Culkin<\/strong>. While none of those celebrities were present, we did chat with Adam Gregory<\/strong>, star of the television program \u201cThe New 90210.\u201d\u00a0 Originally from Cincinnati, Adam now lives in Santa Monica and apparently isn\u2019t much of a foodie. When I asked him his favorite restaurant, he told me \u201cSubway.\u201d<\/p>\n On the Red Carpet, we chatted with Matt Sobel<\/strong>, director of \u201cX to Y\u201d for the inside scoop on the inspiration for his short. Also on the Red Carpet filmmaker Carole Holliday<\/strong> gave us an inside peak at her film, \u201cWitt\u2019s Daughter.\u201d\u00a0 Her 40 minute film is about a father who comes home from the Korean War and meets his three year old daughter. Carole\u2019s inspiration was the movie, \u201cThe Gladiator.\u201d\u00a0 Wanna hear more? Stay tuned for an upcoming podcast show.<\/p>\n The festival, in it\u2019s fourth day now, is packed with filmmakers (who in many cases are the writers, directors, and producers), and actors and actresses. While waiting to screen the \u201cImpact of War\u201d shorts, first-time film maker Tomas Solli<\/strong> from Norway and I struck up a conversation. He is the only Norwegian filmmaker at the festival. His film, \u201cEmergency Exit\u201d\u00a0 debuts today. While munching on popcorn in between films, I ran into Paul Alessi <\/strong>and Serah D\u2019Laine<\/strong>, two stars of the much anticipated, \u201cKnuckle Draggers.\u201d\u00a0 I was able to see Sunday\u2019s sold out performance.
